IELTS Writing Section is different for IELTS Academic and IELTS General. In IELTS General the Writing module is little easier than the IELTS academic but the format remains the same.
The writing tests last sixty minutes and you have two tasks to do in that time.
In the first task you have to write a description of information usually given in a diagram. This may be an object, a set of data or a procedure. You have twenty minutes and have to write a minimum of 150 words. You need to present the description in a clear, logical and appropriate way.
For the second task you will be asked to write a clear argument, discussion or report on a given topic. You have forty minutes and have to write a minimum of 250 words. Again the argument has to be presented clearly and logically and you are expected to support your ideas with evidence and examples from your own knowledge and experience.
